Metaphysical Properties of
Garnet
Ancient beliefs about the energies of stones and their methods of use have been applied to the understanding of
Garnet:
- Garnet is a happiness stone. ~*~ smile ~*~
- Garnet energizes and grounds simultaneously at the Root Chakra. It is one of the most mentioned stones for the Root Chakra in crystal healing layouts (laying-on-of-stones) done by Lightworkers. Garnet balances and stimulates the development and movement of the Kundalini.
- Garnet is one of the most positive stones for depression, loneliness and heart pain. Its warmth is comforting, calming, peaceful and soothing.
- Garnet produces expansiveness in awareness and manifestation. It boosts internal "fire", bringing out creative powers.
- Garnet is a stone of commitment to purpose, to others, and to yourself.
- Garnet rids your Chakras of negative energy, and prevents nightmares.
- Garnet is said to bring good health by cleansing, purifying, and eliminating disorders. It is said that Garnet has been used in treatment of cellular structure disorders and disorders of the blood. It has also been said to help with reproductive disorders, and with reparation and prevention of damage to RNA/DNA structures.
- My personal feelings on Garnet are as follows: Garnet makes me smile. It energizes me. I love wearing Garnet in the winter time because it chases away the blues.
- Garnet vibrates well with the Astrological Signs of Leo, Virgo, Capricorn, & Aquarius. Garnet is listed as the Planetary Stone for Scorpio, and as a Traditional Birthstone for Capricorn & Aquarius. Garnet vibrates to the number 2.
I have no medical evidence to substantiate the correlation between wearing this stone and the effects it will have on the wearer. The mystical healing properties offered above were partially paraphrased from one of a series of Melody's books in the LOVE IS IN THE EARTH series. Melody suggests that the metaphysical properties listed for each stone will have these effects on the wearer WHILE he/she concentrates on the desired outcome. The author further states that this is NOT a substitute for consulting your physician; and I agree. When I wear any of my stones or crystals, I feel empowered by them. Maybe it's just because I WEAR them with specific intentions -- it works because I told my mind it would, OR does it work because of the molecular interaction between my body and the stones/crystals? I don't know. All I know is it seems to work FOR ME.
