Metaphysical Properties of
Green Petrified Wood
Petrified wood was created when minerals replaced and hardened within the molecular structure of ancient wood. This cabochon shows varying hues of the green colored Petrified Wood with very interesting markings - natural wood grain. Nature creates such beauty! This particular Petrified Wood cabochon came from somewhere in the northwest United States (exact location unknown). I bought the cabochon from an elderly gentleman in northern Alabama who has been a lapidary artist for many years. He puts loving care into his creations, and it shows. He told me that even though he did not know the exact location from which this material originated, someone offered him a LARGE sum of money to buy the raw material (a solid square block twice the size of his fist). He said that if someone wanted to offer him that much money for uncut material, he'd better hang onto it and make cabochons out of it! I'm glad he did! The end product is lovely.
The phenomenon of GREEN Petrified Wood is not unheard of, but is not found very often. Green Petrified Wood - is "typically the result of copper". The man who sold me this cabochon stated that strong copper content must have made the Petrified Wood green, because the stone was found near a copper mine.

I have no medical evidence to substantiate the correlation between wearing this stone and the effects it will have on the wearer. The mystical healing properties offered above were partially paraphrased from one of a series of Melody's books in the LOVE IS IN THE EARTH series. Melody suggests that the metaphysical properties listed for each stone will have these effects on the wearer WHILE he/she concentrates on the desired outcome. The author further states that this is NOT a substitute for consulting your physician; and I agree. When I wear any of my stones or crystals, I feel empowered by them. Maybe it's just because I WEAR them with specific intentions -- it works because I told my mind it would, OR does it work because of the molecular interaction between my body and the stones/crystals? I don't know. All I know is it seems to work FOR ME.
