Olivine with Epidote

Olivine is listed as having the same metaphysical properties as Peridot. In fact, in Melody's book, Olivine says "See Peridot". So for all intents and purposes, Olivine is (metaphysically-speaking) Peridot. In addition to having a pendant with the properties of Peridot, you also get the metaphysical properties of Epidote. Two pendants in one! This very effective combination of Olivine and Epidote is twice as powerful as having one or the other and they BOTH are great for personal power and self-esteem. Our center for Chi energy (pronounced: chee) is located at the Solar Plexus. Oriental belief says the Chi must flow unimpeded for good health. We in the Western world might call this energy the Kundalini energy. Whichever you like to call it, the energy must flow, and the chakras (meridians) need cleansed and balanced frequently to keep the energy flowing. Anyway, I believe that the Solar Plexus is where we "feel" the Chi. Sorry I got carried away there... rambling. For some reason this Olivine/Epidote stone seems to make me think in these terms.

Ancient beliefs about the energies of stones and their methods of use have been applied to the understanding of Olivine (Peridot) and Epidote:

Olivine (Peridot) can bring openness and psychological acceptance in matters of love and relationships.

Olivine (Peridot) emits a warm and friendly energy.

Olivine (Peridot) provides a shield of protection around the entire aura of the wearer. When doing chakra-balancing layouts, please remove this pendant until AFTERWARDS.

Olivine (Peridot) is an extremely effective balancer and cleanser of the Solar Plexus Chakra, and also the Heart Chakra. The Solar Plexus is where we have our "gut feelings" and also where our self-esteem based feelings are generated. It is a place where we find "personal power". In the East, I believe they call it the Chi.

Olivine (Peridot) helps regulate cycles in your life.

Olivine (Peridot) helps heal a bruised ego, and inspires happiness within the self, and enjoyment of life.

Peridot is listed as Birthstone for August (Leo), & is listed as the Star Sign Stone for Libra;

Peridot is said to strengthen the regenerative capabilities of the body;

Peridot has been used for recovery of lost or mislaid possessions - keys, letters, etc.;

Ancient Romans wore Peridot to attract love, relieve depression and calm the nerves.

In Medieval times, Peridot goblets were used to drink medicine to make it more potent for healing.

It is said that Epidote can be attuned to increase whatever you wish to be increased.

Epidote supplements personal power.

Epidote is good for increasing perception, for participation, and for interaction.

Olivine (Peridot) is listed as especially attuned with the Astrological Signs of Virgo, Leo, Scorpio, and Sagittarius, and vibrates to the number 7. Epidote is listed as especially attuned with the Astrological Sign of Gemini, and vibrates to the number 2.

Because this stone is good for the Solar Plexus Chakra AND the Heart Chakra, my suggestion is to use a long chain. I don't know about you, but since I found this combination of Olivine with Epidote in cabochon form, I've been looking through it. So, you'll most likely want to look at it with sunlight streaming through it all the time. A long chain will help you do that while wearing it. If you're interested in a long chain for this pendant, please let me know and I'll put one up for auction on eBay. Please specify 30" (Hearth Chakra) length or 36" (Solar Plexus Chakra) length.
I have no medical evidence to substantiate the correlation between wearing this stone and the effects it will have on the wearer. The mystical healing properties offered above were partially paraphrased from one of a series of Melody's books in the LOVE IS IN THE EARTH series. Melody suggests that the metaphysical properties listed for each stone will have these effects on the wearer WHILE he/she concentrates on the desired outcome. The author further states that this is NOT a substitute for consulting your physician; and I agree. When I wear any of my stones or crystals, I feel empowered by them. Maybe it's just because I WEAR them with specific intentions -- it works because I told my mind it would, OR does it work because of the molecular interaction between my body and the stones/crystals? I don't know. All I know is it seems to work FOR ME.
