Ancient beliefs about the energies of stones and their methods of use have been applied to the understanding of Pink Tourmaline:

Pink Tourmaline allows us to trust in the power of love.

This stone helps us attain peace and understanding, trust and awareness, and love. It is a stone that can be given to someone we hope will love us.

It promotes feelings of joy and enthusiasm for life.

It is great for ridding us of/releasing destructive tendencies we might have.

It is said to stimulate the Crown Chakra and the Heart Chakra, combining love and spirituality.

Promotes joy and peace during periods of growth and changes that are guiding us toward furtherance of growth toward enlightenment.

Pink Tourmaline has been used to help release disorders related to dysfunctional endocrine activities.

Tourmaline (all types), is good for diminishing fears, encouraging self-confidence. The shamen among African, Native American and Aboriginal tribes thought that Tourmaline brought healing powers to the users. African shamen used tourmaline to awaken from the "dream of illusion" and to experience the self as a part of the Universal Spirit.

Pink Tourmaline vibrates well with the Astrological Sign of Libra, and vibrates to the number 9.

I have no medical evidence to substantiate the correlation between wearing this stone and the effects it will have on the wearer. The mystical healing properties offered above were partially paraphrased from one of a series of Melody's books in the LOVE IS IN THE EARTH series. Melody suggests that the metaphysical properties listed for each stone will have these effects on the wearer WHILE he/she concentrates on the desired outcome. The author further states that this is NOT a substitute for consulting your physician; and I agree. When I wear any of my stones or crystals, I feel empowered by them. Maybe it's just because I WEAR them with specific intentions -- it works because I told my mind it would, OR does it work because of the molecular interaction between my body and the stones/crystals? I don't know. All I know is it seems to work FOR ME.
